Board Certification

Marie Matteson has earned the highest level of certification awarded by the National
Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB).
The rigorous certification requires candidates to not only pass the board’s exam but also
attain 750 hours of education; log 250 hours of professional, hands on
experience; pass a national background check and have current CPR certification.

Candidates also agree uphold NCBTMB’s standards of practice and code of ethics and to oppose human trafficking.
Matteson has more than 20 years’ experience as a health care worker, including as an
emergency medical technician, as well as having earned a master’s degree in applied
health sciences.
Matteson practices massage, biofeedback, and SCENAR a pain and injury treatment, at
414 Girard St. Bellingham in Peeples Physical Therapy’s new location.
